German measles typically begins with a runny nose
Some may experience a sore throat with swollen lymph glands at the back of the head and behind the ears
Fever and associated symptoms such as pallor, and chill
Appetite decreases
Within a day a rash appears on the forehead and behind the ears and then spreads to the rest of the body
If there is enough rash the skin looks red and blotch
After a couple of days the rash has usually disappeared
Once the rash appears recovery begins
what you can do
- take olive leaf extract as directed on the bottle
- clay poultice to the abdomen if fever is present
- nutritious foods and fluids
- give elderberry syrup or tea for its antiviral properties
- give infusions of meadowsweet tea to help reduce fever and inflammation
