when to consult with a medical practitioner

  • If there is severe headache, extreme weakness, convulsions or stiffness in the neck or unexplained rashes
  • If there are signs of severe irritability or confusion
  • Severe breathing difficulties or chest pain
  • Any unexplained bleeding from the mouth, nose or rectum
  • Any heavy drooling with a sore throat or breathing difficulty
  • Severe sudden onset of abdominal pain
  • Incessant vomiting with signs of dehydration such as dry mouth, loss of normal skin texture, sunken eyes, sunken fontanel
  • If there is vomiting after a head injury, or diarrhea after an abdominal injury
  • If vomiting accompanies marked irritability, screaming, or marked lethargy
  • If a bone fracture breaks through the skin or the affected limb has a deformed shape
